Dramaturgy

In addition to design work, Abbie Hagen has experience as a dramaturg, and is available for freelance dramaturgy work. Below are samples from her most recent dramaturgical project, working on As You Like It with Westminster College.

Research

Before the rehearsal process began, Abbie built a website containing research on As You Like It for use by the production team and actors. This production was a 100th anniversary revival on Westminster College's campus, information which was included in the show research package.

Lobby Display

To celebrate the opening of As You Like It, Abbie created an interactive lobby display for audience members to enjoy, comprised of a "forest of love notes" to mirror the themes of the play. Audiences could walk through the notes, adding their own or admiring the loving words of history.

Dramaturgical Presentation

To enhance the audience experience during As You Like It, Abbie led a panel discussion of the play between the cast and crew, taking audience questions on the show and process.
