About Everybody
Everybody is a modern take on the 15th-century morality play Everyman, exploring what it means to die through an intimate audience lens.
The script poses several costume-specific challenges in its writing, as the play involves a random lottery for nightly role casting, meaning that "everybody can play everybody" in this show. To meet this challenge, Abbie designed size-adaptable looks, so that many actors could wear a single costume piece.
The staging of this production had the cast starting in the audience, masquerading as audience members until being drawn onstage by the plot. To enhance this illusion, Abbie worked with each actor to create a costume that reflected their personal sense of style, so that any friends or family witnessing them would believe they were truly part of the audience.
